Funding the Film

The production budget for the film and initial shorter versions will be $500,000. Production funds can be invested over two calendar years (fundraising began in late 2004) so as to capture the construction area and to set up the time-lapse camera prior to the first significant visual changes.

The funding commitments may be made as charitable contributions to Kansas City Area Development Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, an affiliate of the Kansas City Area Development Council.  The Kansas City Area Development Council and its affiliates hold the copyright on the film, fiduciary responsibilities, as well as the contract with Inland Sea Productions for the development, production, and distribution phases of the project.

Production funders will be credited prominently on all broadcast masters and DVD and video copies of the film, as well as on all generic re-edit versions.

Upon the film’s completion, it will be premiered at a gala function held at a major film theater venue in Kansas City.

KCADC will make DVD and video copies available at retail and promotional outlets throughout the metroplex. Special packaging for the film’s sponsors will be used as unique and lasting corporate gifts.

"In the last year over 500 million in bonds, which sold well in the market, were issued by the Industrial Development Authority representing a significant investment in Kansas City. I think the future is amazing -- what has happened in the last few years was beyond any of our imaginations."
