Making the Film

National renowned documentary film producers John Altman and Aimee Larrabee – whose related work included the IMAX Signature Film “Kansas City Presents” – and a production team from award-winning T2 Productions filmed on a regular basis the most dramatic construction points during the course of the four-year project.

They interviewed the designers, master planners, landscape architects, community leaders, city visionaries, and noted urban planners at the national level, to chronicle the history of the city’s downtown and multi-county growth. They continued following key individuals through the creation of the new jewel in the city’s crown.

“Eye in the sky” cameras recorded time-lapse images of the construction, allowing a climactic segment of the film to recapitulate visually the entire three years in less than two minutes. An original music score appropriate to the city’s jazz heritage will support a “name” narrator, who will increase the viewership of the broadcast.

About TakeTwo

"Kansas City, I have to say is exceptional -- I can't think of any other city in the country that has done so much in such a short amount of time to really change its fortunes and give it momentum and buzz.

Kansas City is a great city. It's a first-tier city, and it's so important right in the middle of the country. I think what we would all like to see is that the personalities of these districts that are so unique become stronger, that the historic character and the scale that makes them unique become stronger and more recognizable."
